Unimas to call it Arena Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang after second TYT

KUCHING: The Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Sports Centre will be named after the state’s second Yang DiPertua Negeri Tun Datuk Patinggi Tuanku Bujang Tuanku Osman — it will be called Arena Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang.

The state government has agreed to the name change as recognition for his services to the state and country.

A ceremony will be held to launch the new name at 10.30am on Oct 16 at Unimas Campus in Kota Samarahan near here.

A delegation from Unimas led by the university’s deputy vice chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof Dr Kamarudin Kana disclosed this during a courtesy call on Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, the wife of the chief minister at Wisma Sultan Tengah today.

The visit, apart from to inform Juma’ani that the centre would be named after her father, was also to invite her to the ceremony.
