SIBU: Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapa’ee will go down to all villages in Nangka to meet with youths through the “Kelakar Dengan Nembiak Kampung” programme.
Dr Annuar, who is also the Assistant Minister of Education and Technological Research, said the programme’s aim is to identify issues faced by youths.
“I feel that such programmes are necessary for us in an effort to reach out to youths as they do not want a formal way with a lot of protocols to highlight the problems or issues they faced.
“That is why I will meet them to talk about the issues and problems they face and what they need to overcome it.
“In fact, we have made a schedule for us to go from village to village to meet with the youths,” he said.
He said this when met by reporters at the first location of the programme at the Koboi Café at Kampung Hilir here recently.
About 100 youths were present at the programme to meet Dr Annuar.
During the programme there were matters highlighted by the youth that they hoped the government would look into, such as improving and assisting small companies in villages.
At the same time, he is proud that most applications from youths do not involve personal applications but are more entrepreneurial in nature.
“I see the youths in Sibu being involved in small businesses but they do not run it regularly.
“After this, I will probably hold a course for them, especially in terms of accounting and how to manage their business.
“For home lot issues, I will highlight this as it is an important matter that we have to solve at the state level,” he said.
