KAPIT: Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi recently presented grant under his Minor Rural Project (MRP) to four local organisations here for their social activity fund.
The simple handing over ceremony of the grant was held to coincide with the ‘Ngiling Bidai’ gathering organised by Rumah Steward Saba at Sri Baleh here.
Those recipients were Kelab Sukan Dan Rekreasi Dewan Suarah Kapit that was given RM5,000. It was received by the manager of Dewan Suarah Kapit, Councillor Bakat Gira who is also the club chairman.
The other three recipients were the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of SMK Selirik (RM10,000) that was received by a teacher Dewis Lidek, AMANITA IPD Kapit (Kapit Police Department Women Social Recreational Club) for the amount of RM10,000 and SUKANJAYA (Public Works Department Sports, Social Recreational Club) Kapit that received RM10,000.
In his brief remark, Nanta told the recipients that the allocation was based on the requests put forward by the four clubs for specific activities.
He advised them to inform their members that the social activity fund had been given and called on them to spend the money wisely for good purpose to benefit the members. He added that it is a requirement to submit a report on the activities being organised and how the allocation is spent.
Present at the function were Bukit Goram State Assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Pelagus Assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang, political secretaries to the Chief Minister Nicholas Kudi Jantai and Tapah Ata, Kapit Resident Joseph Belayong Punan, Kapit District Officer Elvis Didit, Bukit Mabong District Officer Douglas Pungga, heads of departments and community leaders.
