KOTA SAMARAHAN: The launching ceremony of the first of all-halal shopping centre in Sarawak, Aiman Mall, was officiated by Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, representing Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg during the grand opening ceremony yesterday in Kota Samarahan.

Johari congratulated Aiman Mantap for their success in delivering a project comprising 124 shop houses and a shopping mall with 72 shop lots within 23 months, a rapid pace by any standard.

He also encouraged the developer to carry out social responsibility to society especially in providing the opportunity for small entrepreneurs to have their business in the mall.

“The mall not only add a taste of modernity to the area, it also will definitely improve the quality of life for people in the area, with enviable learning infrastructure, modern amenities complete with connectivity that will enhance travel, trade and general movement of residents within the municipality, including access to a series of benefits and services aimed at meeting the needs of its residents,” said Johari, as his speech read by Naroden.

Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais (3rd left) touches the big switch to open the Aiman Mall main entrance as a symbolic of the ceremony.

“Instead of improving the economic of local communities as well as uphold the local product, it is also giving a variety option for customers to buy their needs which is local product have a similar standard with import product,” he pointed out.

Chairman of Aiman Mantap, Samat Othman thanked the government for its support in the project and to the people of Samarahan for the warm response to the project.

“Thank you to the local authorities for their support and guidance in a project that cost over RM150 million, for update, the shop houses was occupied about 80 per cent, while the mall was fully occupied,” he disclosed.

On the ceremony, a special show by local and renowned designer, Maatin Shakir was held, showcasing his 2017 Hari Raya collection. Meanwhile a concert by local and artists from Indonesia were also performing in the evening at the mall compound.

Naroden also officiates the opening of H&L Supermarket, GSM and Facelook, After4 Kopitiam and others outlets in the mall. Also present are Kota Samarahan member’s of parliament, Rubiah Wang, Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Malcolm Mussen and Walikota of Kota Samarahan, Datuk Peter Minos.
