KUALA LUMPUR: National shooter Johnathan Wong Guanjie Oly has become the third Malaysian athlete to have secured a place in 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Olympic Council Malaysia (OCM) president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria said the pistol specialist earned his place in Paris 2024 at the 15th Asian Shooting Championships which is being held from Oct 22 to Nov 2 this year in Changwon, Korea.

”Congratulations to Johnathan for making the cut to Paris 2024. We extend our best wishes to him in his preparation ahead of the Paris Olympics,” he said in a statement.

Johnathan, 31, secured a fourth place finish in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event to earn his ticket, marking his second appearance in the Olympics following his debut in the Rio 2016 edition.
