PADAWAN: The new federal government should come up with a formula to take care of Malaysians in the face of the rising cost of living.
Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin said besides looking into the welfare of all citizens, it should also help the youth in terms of getting them jobs.
He said this after the prize presentation ceremony of the Youth Cup Puncak Borneo Football Tournament at the St Paul Bunuk football field, Bunuk, today.
He said if everybody prospered in terms of the economy and their living standard, everybody will be happy.
“I also want to see the new government walk the talk, work very hard for our people and basically to fulfil what they have promised in the election,” he said.
On his part the MP said he would continue striving to bring more developments and programmes and economic opportunities to the people in his constituency.
“I have done my very best for the last few years and I think the people can see my track record,” said Willie who served as deputy minister in the previous administration.
“If given the opportunity again, I will double my effort and work hard,” he said, adding he would leave this decision to the leadership in Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and also Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
