KUCHING: Innovation and creativity are very important in improving the performance of the civil service, said State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.
Explaining, he said the implementation of Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS) strategies would be driven by innovation and concrete data.
“This strategy will also bring the people of Sarawak to experience rapid development as well as improve the socio-economy of the people with more access to economic opportunities.
“Therefore, the civil service’s commitment is essential to facilitate the implementation of the PCDS 2030 plan and provide the necessary support to the state government, private sectors and the people,” he said at the Raikan Semarak Inovasi programme at the Waterfront Hotel here.
“We in Sarawak are very fortunate because our leaders, especially Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg have often emphasised the need for digitisation and the use of the latest technology so that public services can always be accessed by the people, anytime and anywhere.
“The PCDS 2030 which was launched by the Chief Minister in July this year is a way forward for Sarawak to become a high-income developed state by 2030.”
Jaul, meanwhile, noted that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the civil service’s annual calendar planning was not disrupted especially in pursuing the Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) programme agenda in the Sarawak civil service.
He congratulated the 12 KIK groups of Land and Survey Department who made it to the finals of SCSICA 2021 being the agency with the highest number of finalists.
“I would also like to congratulate the winners of SCSICA 2021, namely the winner of the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Innovation Award 2021, Sassoku Tech from the Land and Survey Department (Kuching Division) as well as Lands Tahai Q hybrid Ta’rom from Land and Survey Department (Limbang Division) and Public Works Department (Limbang Division), which won the SCSICA 2021 Hybrid Innovation Award.
