KUCHING: It is important to maintain one’s health and practice healthy living especially in the post-pandemic period.
KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital general manager Nurhazimah Mahat said this was because there had been a significant increase in outpatients seeking treatment at the hospital, especially respiratory, fever and flu cases that were not caused by Covid-19.
“Several factors that lead to the increase of these cases are lesser time for activity outside, imbalanced diet and so on,” she said at the Bung Sadung Climbathon sponsored by the hospital to educate the Serian community about the value of leading a healthy lifestyle.
The programme which took place last Saturday (Aug 28) was organised by the Bung Sadung Village Development and Security Committee in collaboration with the Serian District Council and supported by the Serian Resident Office and the Sports and Recreation Club Kesutar.
Nurhazimah said the programme’s significance lies in its ability to promote community health improvement, particularly in light of the Covid-19 pandemic that gripped the country.
“Therefore, our hospital always supports this activity as it can increase the public’s awareness on the importance of maintaining health and practicing a healthy lifestyle,” she said.
