KUCHING: Kuching City head coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim conceded that they probably have to dip into the next transfer window to save their Malaysia Super League campaign.
Il Gatto have not won in the past seven games, racking up merely four points from one win and one draw after eight games into the season.
With their recent 0-2 loss against Terengganu, they have now suffered sixth losses into the new season and they are currently languishing at 12th, just two points above the bottom side Kelantan United.
“I have told the management that we cannot continuously depend on the players that we have.
“We need to revamp the squad if we do not want to continue this bad run of form where we cannot pose a threat towards our oppositions, who have far superior and experienced players than ours.
“I am proud of these players because it is the first time for most of them to play in the Super League, excluding Joseph Kalang, but we need better players to close that gap between our squad and other clubs.
“I am optimistic that if our squad can bring in the appropriate players, we can bounce back in the second half of the season,” Irfan said.
