KUCHING: The wife ofYang di-Pertua Negeri Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib yesterday presented welfare aid to 15 recipients under a Jalinan Kasih programme.
The recipients took home basic food necessities and cash aid.
“The contribution is intended to alleviate the burden of those less fortunate and affected by the Covid-19 pandemic,” Ragad said.
The handover ceremony was held at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) foyer where six recipients comprising residents at the KMC flats received the aid.
Later, Ragad who was accompanied by MBKS mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng and his wife Datin Seri Enn Ong presented similar donations to nine residents of Foochow Road, Kampung Sungai Apong and Batu Lintang held at Kampung Sungai Apong multipurpose hall.
