MIRI: A man was found hanged at the veranda of a house in Pujut Corner Tuesday night.
The discovery was made by a neighbour upon his returned from a Chinese New Year dinner around 11.30pm, who called the police for assistance, said Miri deputy police chief, Supt Sabri Zainol.
Acting on the information, a team of police personnel and an ambulance were rushed to the location.
The 30-year-old deceased identified as Raimon was found hanging from a heavy duty chain which was tied to a beam.
“No foul play is suspected in his death,” said Sabri, adding no other injuries were found on the deceased’s body.
“There were also no signs of forced entry or burglary and none of the deceased’s belongings was missing,” said Sabri.
The body has been taken to Miri hospital for a formal autopsy process.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
