SERIAN: The project to build a new agricultural road in Kampung Koran Plaman here will benefit the local residents once it is fully completed on this April 26.
Worth RM150,000, the project started its construction on Jan 27 and is expected to take three months to complete.
Its appointed contractor is Syarikat Monti-Kali while the Serian District Council is the implementing agency responsible for monitoring and ensuring the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Sarawak Public Communication Unit reported that Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus was present at the site handover ceremony for the project, recently.
He said the project was an allocation under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for 2022 under his constituency.
John said he hoped the village head and its residents will cooperate with the contractors throughout the time the works are being carried out.
Meanwhile, he also officiated at the Sungai Entukuk concrete pedestrian bridge project worth RM180,000 under the 2020 RTP as well as handing over appointment certificates for six Village Development and Safety Committees (JKKK).
The appointment of the JKKK secretaries for six villages included Kampung Koran Empaneg, Kampung Koran Bari, Kampung Koran Plaman @ Padang, Kampung Koran Mawang, Kampung Sorak Mawang and Kampung Sorak Dayak @ Sumpung.
Also present were Serian District Council acting secretary Colline John Sitin.
