SIMANGGANG: The development of Sri Aman will be expedited thanks to the establishment of Sri Aman Development Area (Sada) Authority.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said with that, Sri Aman would be able to effectively coordinate its development which is mainly in the fields of agriculture and tourism.
The initiative was made known by the chief minister during a dinner at Sri Aman Civic Centre last Sunday night.
“It was agreed that Datuk Rohani (Batang Lupar MP Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim) would chair Sada. Let there be cooperation between MPs and implementing agencies along with Datuk Jaul (State Secretary Datuk Jaul Samion), Economic Planning Unit, and other related agencies,” said Abang Johari.
According to Rohani, Sada was similar to the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (Irsda).
“Sri Aman is still quite underdeveloped compared to other places. We’ve had enough of this. We want it to be developed like other places,” she said.
“It is understood that with the establishment of agencies such as Sada, we would be able to fast track our planning and most importantly achieve coordination between the agencies involved.
“Currently, government departments and agencies have their own respective plans. So, Sada will have to coordinate all plans so that they can be implemented properly,” she said.
Rohani also mentioned that Sada would likely be housed at Sri Aman Resident’s Office and will conduct baseline studies to determine which areas to focus on.
“The announcement made by the chief minister is truly something special especially for the people of Sri Aman.
“I know I am not alone as we will continue to work together and give our best for the sake of Sri Aman,” said Rohani.
