KUCHING: Sarawak’s positive COVID-19 cases declined slightly with a 97 new cases recorded yesterday, a decrease of seven cases, compared to Wednesday’s 104 cases.
This takes the cumulative cases to 305,180.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update said that there were no cases recorded in categories 3, 4 and 5.
Meanwhile, 38 cases were in category 1 and 59 in category 2.
“Kuching topped the list with 36 cases, followed by Bintulu with 15; Miri with 13; and Sibu with 12.
“Four cases were recorded in Samarahan; Serian (three); two each in Subis, Meradong, Kapit and Lundu; and one each in Sarikei, Simunjan, Kanowit, Lubok Antu, Tatau and Saratok,” the committee said.
SMDC also disclosed that no fatalities were reported.
In terms of non-compliance to the standard operating procedures (SOPs), Kuching police also issued compound notices to 14 individuals for failing to register with the MySejahtera app before entering the premises.
This brings the total number of compounds issued by Sarawak police to 13,932.
