KUCHING: Covid-19 cases in Sarawak on Thursday (Nov 25) dropped to 171 compared to the previous day’s figure of 192, pushing the cumulative number to 250,085.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its statement today (Nov 25), said there were 159 categories 1 and 2 cases while 12 were categories 3, 4 and 5 cases.
“The state recorded six fatalities, including two brought-in dead (BID) cases, which occurred on Nov 17, 21 and 22.
“All fatalities were from Bintulu, Miri, Samarahan and Sibu. The youngest death involved a 4-month-old baby boy who was brought to Bintulu Hospital. The oldest victim was 85 years old,” said the committee.
Meanwhile, Kuching recorded 66 Covid-19 cases while Lawas had 19, followed by Miri (17), Limbang (15), Bintulu (12), Sibu (11), Samarahan (five) and Sri Aman and Matu (three cases each).
Mukah, Betong and Bau each recorded two cases while Serian, Lundu, Sarikei, Kapit, Tatau, Beluru, Kabong, Pakan, Bukit Mabong, Dalat, Sebauh, Simunjan, Belaga and Telang Usan each recorded only one Covid-19 case.
The committee also announced that two clusters had ended, namely, the Jalan Demak Indah cluster and the Jalan Perimeter Airport cluster in Kuching after they recorded no new cases in the past 28 days.
“There are still four active clusters, namely, the Putai 2 cluster in Bukit Mabong, the Ensurai cluster in Limbang, the Jalan Sultan Tengah Rampangi cluster in Kuching and the Jalan Ong Tiang Swee cluster also in Kuching.
“So far, all the active clusters have not recorded any new Covid-19 cases today,” said the SDMC in its daily update.
