KUCHING: Sarawak recorded double digit new COVID-19 cases on Friday (Jan 21).

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its statement said the 14 new cases comprised 13 cases in categories 1 and 2 and one case in category 4.

The state’s cumulative cases now stand at 252,674.

Sibu topped the number of new cases with seven, followed by Bintulu and Selangau with two cases each.

Kuching, Kapit and Limbang recorded one case respectively.

Thirteen compounds were issued by the police in Kuching.

Eleven compounds were issued for failure to scan the MySejahtera QR Code/register before entering premises, one for not wearing face mask and not providing hand sanitiser at the premises.

No fatality and new cluster were recorded today.
