KUCHING: Satok residents are urged to prioritise health and wellness through regular recreational activities.
Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki said the Sarawak government is committed to support sports development in the constituency.
“This is to maintain our health and foster stronger community bonds in Satok,” he said during the closing ceremony of the Satok Sports Carnival 2024.
The carnival, organised by the Satok Sports and Community Club (KSK) at the Satok Sports Complex, attracted around 300 visitors today (Nov 3).
The three-day event (Nov 1-3) featured futsal, pickleball, and sepak takraw competitions.
Bandarshah emerged as the futsal champion, defeating Kampung Nombor Lima 2-1.
The champion received RM1,000, a trophy, and medals.
Kampung Nombor Empat won the pickleball event, while Team Datus B claimed the sepak takraw title.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim announced a RM60,000 allocation for an awning at the Satok Sports Complex.
Additionally, a Digital Innovation Centre will be established near the Satok Service Centre to support youths, startups, and businesses.
The centre will offer facilities like a conference room and computers.
