LEEDS: The development of a new economy in Sarawak guarantees a bright future for the future generation.
As reported in TVS, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg stated that the skills obtained by the younger generation are needed to ensure the success of the implementation.
“What is important is that we create an economy that is available for the next generation.
“With the qualifications they have, the younger generation is able to put themselves at the forefront of the industry’s needs,” he said during his luncheon with 15 Sarawak students here.
For the record, the luncheon here is held in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
The students are from Sheffield University, Bristol University, London Imperial College, Manchester University, London School of Economics, Oxford University and Leeds University.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari encouraged the students in Leeds to pursue their studies to the Master’s level so that they can contribute to the development of Sarawak.
He said this is because the students are the successors to the current leaders in the future.
In the meantime, touching on the invitation by Europeans to him to be a member of the forum panel in Poland, he said, it proves Sarawak’s ability to lead in the region, especially in green energy.
At the forum on Hydrogen Technology later, he stated that he will be sharing his views on Sarawak’s plan and perspective in dealing with the issue of climate change.
