KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud on Monday (Apr 12) received a courtesy visit from the new Federal Secretary of Sarawak, Datuk Amir Omar who was accompanied by his deputy, Norizan Jili, in Demak Jaya.
Amir replaced Datuk Mohammad Shahabuddin Omar who retired on April 3, 2021.
Amir, who previously served in the Public Service Department as the secretary-general in the Ministry of Human Resources, called for cooperation between the federal and state governments to improve the quality of education, boost development as well as economic relations.
He advised Sarawak civil servants to perform their duties with high integrity.
The civil servants were also advised to support the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to stop the spread of the pandemic.
