KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching expressed sincere gratitude to Ibraco Berhad for their generous contribution to the community.
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Ibraco Berhad joined hands with Hope Place and Pembinaan JBS Sdn. Bhd. to construct a new home for an underprivileged family in Kuching.
“The project lasted two months, during which the contractors demolished the old, rundown house and built a new one. The new house includes a living room, two bedrooms, a toilet, and a kitchen. During the construction period, the family stayed in temporary accommodation,” stated a press release yesterday (June 6th).
The new house at Kuching-Serian Road belongs to Sim Han Cheng, 47, and his elderly father. In 2022, Sim sought assistance from Hope Place after being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.
“Unable to work and requiring dialysis, Sim now relies on his 71-year-old father, who earns a modest income by collecting and selling recycled items and occasionally working as a cleaner at Siburan cemetery,” the press release added.
Upon completion, Ibraco Berhad, Pembinaan JBS Sdn Bhd, and Hope Place officially handed over the new house to Sim and his father.
Melina Minos, Dewi Hamden from Ibraco Berhad, Justin Liew, Bryan Tan and Steve Bong from Pembinaan JBS Sdn Bhd, attended the handover ceremony. Kelvin Wan, the founder of Hope Place, witnessed the event. The new house is estimated to be worth approximately RM50,000.
Ibraco Berhad is a long-time supporter of Hope Place’s initiatives and local community endeavours. The company eagerly anticipates future collaborations with the NGO on projects and activities aimed at assisting the underprivileged.
