KUCHING: The opening of the third branch office of the Institut Keusahawanan Negara Berhad (INSKEN) Campus will bring significant benefits to entrepreneurs in the state.
Having said this, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said INSKEN is a progressive agency known for empowering entrepreneurs in Malaysia.
“The wise decision to open the next branch in Sarawak coincides with advancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak).
“This proves that the location factor is not an obstacle for entrepreneurs in Sarawak to expand their business to a higher level,” he said.
He said this in his speech during the launching of INSKEN Sarawak Campus at Sarawak Plaza Shopping Complex here today (Oct 1).
He also said that the Ministry and agencies are always attentive to the needs of entrepreneurs, including feedback gathered during a recent dialogue session with industry players from Sabah and Sarawak.
“Among the recommendations given is that more entrepreneurship training not only for cooperatives but small entrepreneurs including micro and informal be organised in Sabah and Sarawak.
“As a result, INSKEN has now established its campus in these two states to continue helping entrepreneurs here,” he added.
Ewon noted that as of August 2023, INSKEN has successfully trained a total of 7,418 entrepreneurs, surpassing the target set for 2023.
“I hope that through the opening of the branch here, more entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in Sarawak will seize the opportunity to follow the training and guidance programmes provided by INSKEN,” he mentioned.
Ewon added that INSKEN provides various training and guidance programmes for entrepreneurs, including the INSKEN Bumiputera Business Coaching Programme (IBBC), INSKEN Start-Up Coaching, Product Development Guidance Programme, and the Program Bimbingan Keuntungan Menu.
