MIRI: The Greater Miri Development Master Plan is a comprehensive framework that guides the efficient use of natural resources, the establishment of infrastructure, utilities, and facilities to cater to the needs of the local population.

State Transport Minister, Datuk Sri Lee Kim Shin, said that the master plan envisions a division that embraces innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity, with a primary focus on improving the quality of life for all residents.

During the Vision Workshop for the Greater Miri Development Master Plan at Meritz Hotel Miri yesterday (June 16), Lee said, one of the core objectives of the master plan is to achieve a harmonious balance between urban progress and environmental conservation.

He added, to fulfill this vision, the state government plans to concentrate on improving education, healthcare, housing, and public infrastructure. The aim is to ensure that all members of the community can thrive and realise their full potential.

“We will create an environment that encourages entrepreneurship, research, and development. This will position Miri as a hub for innovation and a centre of excellence in various sectors. By fostering a culture of innovation, we aim to attract talent and investment, propelling our city to new heights of prosperity,” said Lee.
