SIBURAN: Siburan will soon have a new mosque for the Muslim community.
Transport Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the construction of the mosque in the district is needed for the Muslim community in the area.
“This is considering that currently the Muslim community in the Siburan area only has one mosque, which is the Nur Bakti Dakwah Mosque located in Kampung Jawa Gunda,” Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported.
Jerip was speaking at the Sungkei Berambeh programme with the residents of Kampung Jawa Gunda here recently.
Jerip also approved an allocation of RM45,000 for infrastructural development and for activities of the Kampung Jawa Gunda’s Development and Security Committee (JKKK).
The programme also witnessed the Serian Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIS) presenting a donation of RM1,000 to 10 hardcore poor from the village.
