MUKAH: The new RM302.4 million Mukah Airport is 90 percent completed in January this year.
Now, final maintenance work is being carried out before the airport begins operation next month.
Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo told Suara Sarawak here today that initially, work on the project was delayed for three months due to the implementation of the movement control order (MCO).
He said the new airport was very important for the development of Mukah.
“This is a major development for Mukah and the use of the airport is highly anticipated by all,” he added.
The airport will be able to land ATR type aircraft compared to only Twin Otter for the old airport at present.
