MIRI: A total of RM250,000 has been allocated for the Kampung Tudan Desaras Utama multipurpose hall project, said Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.

He has successfully secured the funding under the 2024 Rural Transformation Plan (RTP) to kickstart the construction of a multipurpose hall for the residents of village.

“During a site visit on October 23, we went to the village to identify a suitable location for the hall.

“The construction of the multipurpose hall will be carried out in phases, with the first phase focusing on land clearing, site preparation, and laying the building’s foundation and flooring.

“The second phase will involve applying for additional funds to add essential facilities such as a stage and parking area,” he said in a press statement today.

Ting highlighted that the community lacked a dedicated space for their activities for many years, often resorting to borrowing Tudan Desaras Utama KRT Chairperson Noraziah Yusof’s home for events.

He expressed optimism that the new hall would provide a proper venue for Kampung Tudan Desaras Utama residents to organise community events and foster greater unity among them.

“The residents are hopeful that this long-awaited facility will soon become a reality, providing them with a permanent and well-equipped space to hold various community activities,” he added.
