KUCHING: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam), in partnership with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM), will host an outreach programme to support the welfare of the fishing community in Kampung Muara Tebas.
The event, scheduled for November 16 from 9 am to 11.30 am at its community hall, aims to address community needs while promoting environmental sustainability.
Activities for the community include aerobics session, free health screenings, smoking and vaping prevention lecture for school students, workshop on producing organic fertiliser from marine waste and lekor cracker-making workshop by LKIM.
Bank Islam will also distribute zakat donations to 50 asnaf students from SK Muara Tebas and SMK Bako.
The programme will be officiated by Group CEO of Bank Islam Dato’ Mohd Muazzam Mohamed; Sarawak State Director of LKIM Mohd Rizal Sahari; and Director of the University Industry Centre (UnIC) at UNIMAS Prof Dr Mohd Hasnain Md Hussain.
