MUKAH: New Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) Mukah campus located in Judan will be completed in August next year, said PPKS Executive Director Hallman Sabri.
“If everything went as planned, classes at the new campus will commence in January 2020.
“A wide range of industry-relevant courses will be offered including Information Technology and Mechatronics,” he said at the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PPKS and 19 secondary schools at PPKS Mukah on Wednesday.
He added PPKS would look into adapting a dual system as practiced in Germany to develop the workforce and to meet the needs of industry in Sarawak.
“Based on feedback from various industries in the state, to develop future-ready workforce, PPKS will be setting up a dedicated Industry 4.0 Lab and a Metallurgy and Materials Science Training Centre,” he explained.
Also present were Mukah District Education Officer Hajah Salemah Haji Chali, iCATS Chief Executive Officer Mohd Isham Fauzi, and PPKS Education and Training Services Deputy Executive Director Zakri Md Salleh.
