KUCHING: Sarawak’s own music sensation Arabyrd and Brunei’s celebrated fashion icon, Na Forrer by Farhanna Pura, have debuted their stunning ‘Irama’ collection, in time for the Raya 2024 festivities.
Unveiled at The Ranee Museum today (March 5), this collection represents a harmonious blend of cultural pride and creative innovation, celebrating the rich textile legacy of Borneo.
The ‘Irama’ collection, a chic assembly of seven mini resort Raya wear pieces, marries the digital precision of printed Keringkam motifs with the traditional touch of hand-painted batik across luxurious silk satin and crepe materials.
“Digitally printing the artisanal embroidered ‘Keringkam’ motifs onto designer pieces not only make these exquisite designs more accessible but also celebrate our shared heritage in a modern context.
“It combines a fresh take on colour blocking with a nod to traditional attire, especially through the dynamic use of black and red, capturing the essence of Sarawakian women’s sophisticated style,” said Arabyrd in her speech at the museum.
The collection can be pre-ordered, requiring a two-week lead time before delivery.
