KUCHING: A new restaurant in the city, Zoro by Domus Group, will open to public on Friday (Oct 22) at La Promenade Mall. Henceforth, the restaurant will open from 9.30am to 9.30pm daily
Group founder Nathan Ngu said Zoro was the third Domus Group’s restaurant here after its primary outlet at Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho and co-ownership of Trevi at Saradise.
“The restaurant serves exciting western and Asian cuisine, with an emphasis on high-quality ingredients.
“During the day, Zoro will serve mostly western favourites, offering a menu similar to Mr Domus and Trevi.
“In the evening, we will be serving more Asian-inspired food as there will be a lot of lounge-type and tapas-style offerings besides a wide selection of high-quality wines and cocktails.
“Currently, we are exemplifying the best of our two establishments and refining them further at our new outlet in La Promenade Mall Restaurant,” Ngu said in a statement yesterday (Oct 10).
He added that Zoro would also feature a retail section where imported goods such as olive and truffle oils, pasta and nuts would be sold on a daily basis.
Ngu revealed that the restaurant’s first few months of operations would be limited to dine-ins and take-outs, with food deliveries coming next year.
In addition, Zoro’s entrance at La Promenade Mall completes the ground floor food service sector, with the restaurant occupying the largest space of over 3,000 sq feet, on a corner lot facing the tree-lined Jalan La Promenade and a new park under construction.
“This will be the group’s most important and largest outlet. Ngu has collaborated extensively with us on the layout of the area, ensuring that this location has enough space for a bakery, hot food stations and a dessert workshop.
“The layout, design and finishing of Zoro were all created from scratch. He gave us his brief, and we worked closely together on every detail.

“So far, we have not done anything like the restaurant’s design in Kuching before. All major components, such as counters, window facades, and the entrance statement, were all customised,” added senior mall leasing manager Trish Lui.
