KUCHING: New Sarawak Tribune paid a courtesy call on Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) director Datuk Khirudin Drahman on today (Feb 21).

The delegation comprised managing editor Aden Nagrace, executive editor Harry Henry Julin, corporate business division senior manager Dorge Rajah, online editor Nazmi Suhaimi, video production head Clement Erik Wong, chief reporter Natasha Jee as well as deputy chief reporters Sarah Hafizah Chandra and Allan Jay.

Aden stated that the purpose of the visit was to foster closer ties between the local daily and Bomba.

He pointed out that Bomba had been very helpful in providing and disseminating information to the media.

“We are looking forward to working more closely with Bomba on further collaborations, especially in spreading awareness on fire safety and prevention to the local community,” he said.

Meanwhile, Khirudin stated that the local media played a crucial role in the dissemination of information to the local community.

He commended the local media for its support in highlighting the services provided by Bomba.

“The media plays a significant role in reaching the community. As such, Bomba has been actively engaging with various local media in Sarawak.

“We will continue to foster this good and close relationship as we share the common goal of raising awareness and informing the local community,” Khirudin assured
