KUCHING: Replacing the old Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching branch signage marks a fresh start and genuine change.
Its chairperson Datuk Lily Yong said the replacement of the old SUPP Kuching signage with a new one symbolises a new beginning and a real change.
According to Yong, the new signage is an effort of all past and present comrades and everybody coming together.
“We bought this premises during the 90s, but today is the changing (period) of putting up the new (branch) signage.
“Now we have entered into the era of change, and we are determined to be more brave,” she told reporters after the unveiling of the signage at the SUPP Kuching compound today.
Yong said the branch team has been brave and will be more determined to make changes in the future.
“We continue to uphold the good image of SUPP, party constitution, party discipline and a team working together,” she said.
She said that it is paramount for the branch to remain united and continue working together to uphold the good image of SUPP.
SUPP, being one of the oldest political parties in Malaysia, formed its Kuching branch on June 29, 1959, making it the second oldest after the Sibu branch.
This year the branch celebrates its 65th anniversary.
