MUKAH: Pupils and teachers as well as staff of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Tellian here may have to wait a little bit longer before they can finally move in and enjoy the comfort of the new building.
The building was completed at the end of 2019, and initially, was expected to be operational in April 2020, but this did not materialise.
Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo was asked whether he had any update on the building, which is located about 100m in front of his residence.
“Not sure, as it is learned that there is still a problem with the approval from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba),” he said via yesterday.
Last year, he was quoted in a local daily as saying that the school was waiting for the green light from the Ministry of Education (MoE).
On June 12, 2020, it was reported that a source from the contractor, Bispuri Sdn Bhd, said MoE would decide when the school would be operational.
The new building, located at a new site, was rebuilt at a cost of RM19 million.
It is located about 100m from the old building on the opposite side of Jalan Tellian at Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah).
