SEMATAN: A new synthetic football field is in the planning for Sematan sub-district.
Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said that the plan is currently under discussion with consultants.
“If everything goes smoothly, we’ll start accepting construction bids next year. The Sematan football team will oversee the project,” Azizul said at the closing ceremony of Saberkas Sports Carnival programme for Tanjong Datu branch recently.
Azizul emphasised the Sarawak government’s dedication to providing amenities for youth in his area especially projects in the Sematan zone, like a futsal field.
“We’ve already completed some of these projects, such as the one in Kampung Siru, making it easier for our youth to participate in sports,” he noted.
The two-day sports festival featured a variety of events, from esports tournaments to street soccer games and traditional dance contests.
