BAU: Construction on the new wet market building near Ming Ming Wholesale here, worth almost RM2 million, has started and is expected to be completed within 12 months.

The project to replace the existing building is being implemented through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to improve the suitability and comfort for sellers and visitors.

Assistant Minister of Transport II and Tasik Biru assemblyman, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep was present to witness the handing over of the project site by Bau District Council secretary Simon Wong Hong Yong to the appointed contractor on Tuesday (Jan 18).

The construction on the non-halal wet market, which will be selling chicken and pork, will begin after the site is handed over.

Also present was Bau District Officer and Bau District Council chairman, Anielia Siam.
