MUKAH: A 17-year-old student from Miri Rachel Chia Po Lin is the winner in a beauty pageant held at Kaul Mukah 2017 on Thursday.
Rachel who is of mixed Chinese-Melanau parentage defeated 11 other contestants for the title.
Originally from Kpg Tellian Mukah (before her family moved to Miri ), Rachel also took the Beautiful Body subsidiary title.
Natalie Abdullah, 16, from Kpg Tellian Ulu Mukah is the runners-up. She also took the Most Feminine subsidiary title.
Felicia Michelle Juran, 27, from Kpg Tellian Tengah is the second runners-up.
A political secretary to the Chief Minister Faridah Bt Osman and wife of Mukah Resident Aziah Hassan gave away the prizes.
Also present were Mukah Resident Awang Johari Awang Musthapa, Mukah District Officer Shafrie Saili, event organising chairman Royston Valentine and Balingian Constituency special officer Che Ghazali Arbi.
