KANOWIT: The distribution of food aid under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 6.0 for the Ngemah constituency was completed on June 17.
Its assemblyman Alexander Vincent on Sunday (June 20) said it took more than a week to fully distribute the food aid to the residents in his constituency.
He added that the distribution work was carried out by volunteers from his service centre.
“Their last location was in several areas in Ulu Ngemah, namely Rantau Lugai, Nanga Lakah and also the Nanga Jagau Resettlement Scheme where about 170 heads of households received the food aid in those areas,” he said.
Since the beginning of the distribution on June 7, Alexander said a total of 3,577 heads of household or about 300 longhouses under the Ngemah constituency have benefited from the aid.
“We would like to thank all the recipients for their patience throughout this period.
“Not to forget, we would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation and gratitude to all who have worked relentlessly since the first day.
“Your services are very much appreciated,” he said
In the meantime, Alexander said, for residents who are eligible for the assistance but have not yet received it, they are urged to contact the community leaders of their respective areas or the staff at the Ngemah Community Service Centre.
