KANOWIT: Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana has expressed his commitment and desire to assist in the distribution of funds for drainage construction at Rumah Lakun and the purchase of kitchen equipment for its women’s bureau.
Anyi said application for projects could be submitted to his service centre.
A news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) said the assemblyman encouraged the tuai rumah (village head) to forward their application to the Ngemah service centre, which is located at Kanowit town.
He said Rumah Lakun has been included in the RTP 2023 under his constituency, which calls for the construction of an awning in front of the longhouse.
The Rumah Lakun Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), which has 15 doors, received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants totalling RM7,500 last year.
“For other JKKK members who are present, their RTP project applications can be sent to the Ngemah service centre in Kanowit town.
“Approval of RTP projects is based on both the current financial situation and the needs of the community.
“RTP projects will be executed in stages, and we hope the JKKKs will be patient if they have not yet received the projects,” Anyi said during the Majlis Pemimpin Bersama Rakyat at Rumah Lakun here, recently.
The event was attended by 21 village heads from the Nanga Ngungun Settlement Scheme and surrounding areas.
On other issues, Anyi said the Sarawak government had previously approved the appointment of a total of 13 village heads in Ngemah.
He said the panel for the appointment and election of community leaders was headed by Sibu Resident Wong Hee Sieng.
Also present were Anyi’s wife Gelim Utan, Penghulu Ron Ugai, councillors Cliff Unting and Mutang Karani, and Sergeant Bidat from Kanowit police station (IPD).
