SRI AMAN: A total of 5,000 face masks were distributed to hawkers and traders at the Sri Aman Guest Market on Wednesday.

The event was jointly organised by Persatuan Anak Perantau Simanggang (PAPS) and Datus United Club (DUC) while the face masks were donated by Solidium (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd.

PAPS secretary Awang Putra Yusri Awang Redzuan, in his brief address before the presentation ceremony, advised the people against taking the need to wear face mask lightly.

“Wearing of face mask, especially in public places, is crucial in efforts to help curb the spread of the Covid-19 infection,” he added.

Awang Putra also advised hawkers to ply their trade at the market and comply strictly with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“I hope the distribution of face masks can help hawkers and traders to continue their daily activities with the right SOP and practice the new norms of life,” he said.

Awang Putra thanked Solidium (Sarawak) for the contribution and hoped more private firms would emulate the initiative.
