KUCHING: Sarawak Muay Thai Association and Sarawak Press Photographer Association yesterday distributed 100 packs of food and drinks to frontliners on duty during the movement control order (MCO) here yesterday.
Sarawak Muay Thai Association president Jumaat Ibrahim said that the association took the initiative after acknowledging the frontliners who worked hard to ensure the safety of the public’s health.
“The donation is expected to ease the burden of frontline workers – police, nurses and soldiers, who are able to work round the clock to keep Sarawak safe and ensure the people affected by Covid-19 get the best treatment.
“Most Sarawakians sit at home and observe the lockdown with their families, but they (medic, police and military) serve as frontliners to keep Sarawakians safe. Therefore, I as a Sarawakian myself, do this charity work to honour them and to know the people of Sarawak salute their sacrifices,” he added.
SPPA treasurer Zulazhar Sheblee added that as the media also helped distribute the food, they were also able to take a closer look at how the frontliners worked.
“They work hard for the wellbeing of all of us. Help them by staying at home and pray for their wellbeing and protection,” he said.
