MULU: A total of 26 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) here received minor rural project (MRP) grants totalling RM267,600 from the state constituency assemblyman.
Its assemblyman, who is also the Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration, and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala, hoped that each recipient used the grant wisely for their respective organisation.
“I hope that every organisation, especially the village security and development committees (JKKKs), can use this allocation in accordance with what they stated in their application letters.
“This allocation, to some extent, will be able to help the villagers at least in an effort to develop your respective villages,” he said when handing over the MRP grant cheque in a recent ceremony.
Among the recipients were JKKKs, parent-teacher associations, non-governmental organisations, houses of worship, clubs, and associations.
