MIRI: The Miri Sessions Court has fixed October 22 for further mention of a murder case involving a 29-year-old local man accused of killing an Indonesian national.

The accused, Fancy Jugo, appeared before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz yesterday morning (Sept 25).

He will face charges under Section 302 of the Penal Code for the murder of 40-year-old Gafur, an Indonesian national.

If convicted, Fancy could face the death penalty.

According to the charge sheet, Fancy allegedly murdered Gafur between 8 am and 10 am on July 29, 2024, at a private oil palm estate in Sebubok, Ulu Niah.

The victim’s body was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to the forehead, eye, neck, and stomach.

During the proceedings, no plea was recorded from the accused, who was unrepresented.

ASP Koay Kok Ping served as the prosecutor, while ASP Barry Bunyak, the investigating officer, was also present in court.
