KUCHING: The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) has appointed Nicolette Elia as its new director of operations and Lim Jing Qi as the senior research and business development executive.
BCCK chief executive director, Eric Van Piggelen said, “We are pleased to welcome Nicolette and Jing Qi on board. Our team will benefit from their extensive experience in the business events field.”
Nicolette will lead the BCCK operations team in covering the front and back of house to serve the needs of clients, conference delegates and visitors to the convention centre. Nicolette’s role will see her work closely with the heads of event planning, culinary, banquet, audio visual technical services, stewarding, housekeeping, security services and facility maintenance, the company said.
Born and raised in South Africa, Nicolette started off her career with an exhibition organiser based in Johannesburg, managing both national exhibitions and international pavilions after which she held the position of Operations Director at the Durban International Convention Centre, South Africa. Prior to her career with BCCK, she was located in Paris, France, working for UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
Jing Qi, graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce major in accounting, was born and raised in Taiping, Perak. She worked as a business development senior executive in Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) for 7 years before joining BCCK as a senior research and development executive, the company added.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Jing Qi’s role is to enhance customer relationship with key associations’ clients and to research and identify potential business for BCCK.
