Nine compounded for violating SOPs

KUCHING: Police have issued a total of nine compounds to individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

“Kuching recorded the most with eight compounds issued, followed by one compound in Sarikei,” said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today (Sept 2).

On the SOP compliance monitoring, it said patrol teams inspected 1,415 premises throughout Sarawak.

These included 323 restaurants, supermarkets (133), banks (84), public markets (76), places of worship (65), hawker stalls (41), government offices (36), leisure places (38), construction sites (17), factories (1), and others (609).

SDMC added that  1,015 vehicles were inspected in six “Ops Benteng” roadblocks in five districts — two in Lundu with one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman  and Lubok Antu.
