SIBU: Two women were among nine people arrested to assist investigations into motorcycle theft, burglary and trespassing cases.
Sibu district deputy police chief Supt Collin Babat on Thursday (Nov 4) said both women, aged 30 and 31 respectively, have previous criminal records.
He added that the other seven suspects are aged between 15 and 33 years old.
“The women were arrested on Wednesday (Nov 3) at Jalan Awang Ramli Amit to help in investigations into a motorcycle theft case,” he said, adding that the female suspects will be investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
Collin said five male suspects, aged between 15 and 33 years old, were detained at separate locations on Wednesday to help in investigations into a trespassing case.
He said all of them, except the 15-year-old, have previous criminal records, and they will be investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code.
“Two other suspects, aged 26 and 31 respectively, were arrested in Kampung Jeriah to assist investigations into burglary cases under Section 457 of the Penal Code. Both have previous criminal records,” added Collin.
