MARUDI: The Marudi Fire and Rescue Station carried out public sanitisation operations at nine locations in Long Lama here today (Jan 14).

Its Public Communication Unit said the operation was led by Marudi fire chief Maureen Sim Ah Lian.

It said the operations were carried out after a close contact of the Bah Sayap Covid-19 Cluster in Miri attended a funeral in the area.

“The nine locations include five residencies, two offices, a hotel and a church,” it said in a statement today (Jan 14).

It added that the firefighters from Marudi station took four hours to reach the bazaar.
