BINTULU: Severe action will be taken against any police officers or personnel involved in crime, drugs or activities that can tarnish the integrity of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Bintulu District police chief Superintendent Zulkipli Suhaili said that he would not compromise with such officers or personnel.
“We will not compromise as we are the enforcers and we know the effects of drug abuse within the community,” he added.
Zulkipli said that he had always reminded his officers and members not to be involved in drugs due to the negative consequences, such as dismissal if found guilty. He said so far, no officers or personnel at the Bintulu district police headquarters (Bintulu IPD) has been involved in drug abuse.
Zulkipli hoped that police officers in the division and supervisor levels would stress the importance of integrity to their subordinates.
Recently, the Royal Malaysia Police via the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department carried out a special operation known as the Blue Devil Operation to eradicate drug abuse among its members.
The operation, which was executed nationwide, began in early August. It aimed to catch any police officers or personnel involved in drugs. Strict actions will be taken against those found guilty.
