SEBUYAU: The Sarawak government will not spend extravagantly while ensuring that all developments will benefit the people.
“My government is not extravagant, but we aim to provide benefits to the people,” assured Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said the state government would not be extravagant in its spending under his leadership.
“However, the people must also use their resources and play their role in increasing their income and improve their lives,” he said at the Sebuyau district level Hari Raya gathering held at Sebuyau Development Hall here today (Apr 27).
Abang Johari also highlighted Sarawak’s record-high revenue of RM13 billion last year, expressing optimism for continued growth in revenue for this year.
“We still have eight months left, so if things continue this way, there should not be any issues.
“But we also need to save for our future, and that is why we have our Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund for rainy days,” he added.
