BINTULU: Effective today (April 27) till May 10 in Bintulu, individuals are not allowed to be in public places after 8pm.

Bintulu Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) chairman Jack Aman Luat said this was in line with the new standard operating procedure (SOP) which was updated on Monday (April 26).

“No individual is allowed to be in public places after 8pm without a sensible reason. If the person fails to provide a sensible reason, he or she can be compounded immediately,” he said during a press conference after chairing a Bintulu DDMC meeting on Monday.

In addition, he said for those who wished to purchase household necessities, only two household members are allowed to go out within a radius not exceeding 10km from their residence, or to a place closest to their residence if the necessities are not available within said 10km radius.

The Bintulu Division Resident also said all employment sectors in Bintulu Division were required to work from home.
