LIMBANG: The Sarawak government has directed a task force to hasten the construction of Limbang Bridge.

The project has been delayed because of the movement control order (MCO) during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said yesterday that the task force comprised contractors from the Brooke Dockyard and the Public Works Department (JKR).

He told a press conference this after attending a briefing on the project in Limbang today.

Abang Johari added the state would appoint two contractors to develop the approach road to the bridge.

“With this pro-active solution, the construction of this project will be hastened. We will have three organisations involved in developing the Limbang Bridge, and God’s willing, it will be completed as scheduled,” he said.
