KUCHING: Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira hopes that no more home surveillance order (HSO) will be issued to Sarawakian returnees, especially those that need to undergo home quarantine in the rural areas.
He expressed his concern following the newly declared Covid-19 cluster named Pasai Cluster in Sibu involving 38 cases including the index case, Case 1,175, who tested positive on Jan 7.
“My advice to the people is to stay at home and to stop all gatherings including political activities,” he told New Sarawak Tribune today (Jan 10).
He also urged the rural folk to immediately contact the health clinic if they’re feeling unwell so that further action could be taken.
“Continue to be vigilant and make sure to follow the instructions from the authorities for any movement within the area,” he said.
Following the outbreak, the Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee implemented movement control at eight longhouses in Sibu.
